Beware of ’fake Google form’gathering details of children under 18 for vaccination: HPB

The Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) said today there was a malicious google form being circulated in the social media gathering information on children under 18 years of age for vaccination and HPB firmly warns people not to get caught in such scams.

HPB Director Ranjith Batuwanthudawa said there was no such activity initiated by Health Ministry or Epidemiology Unit.

“This is a fake collection of data and it could be dangerous. We warn people not to give any information on these suspicious data collection platforms,” he said.

He said a complaint has been lodged with the Police Cyber Crime Unit and the Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) over this scam. (Ajith Siriwardana)
