Champika elected Chairman of Committee on Economic stabilization



Opposition MP Campika Ranawaka was today unanimously elected Chairman of the Committee on Economic stabilization today.

The committee on economic stabilization was one of the new committees that have been formed.

Mr. Ranawaka’s press secretary told Daily Mirror that he was elected unanimously.

Mr. Ranawaka has been nominated by MP Vajira Abeywardene while he was seconded by MP Mano Ganesan andMinister Nazir Ahamaed.

Accordingly, three opposition members head committees in Parliament.

These include Kabir Hashim who heads committee on public accounts (COPA) and Harsha de Silva heads committee on public finance and now Mr. Ranawaka head of committee on economic stabilization. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
