Court refrains from issuing an arrest warrant against Diana Gamage

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today refrained from issuing an arrest warrant against State Minister Diana Gamage for allegedly committing offences under Immigrants and Emigrants Act.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis observed that the court would not issue an order in terms of section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act since prosecution has not concluded investigations into the incident.

A group of lawyers led by President's Counsel Rienzie Arseculeratne and Udara Muhandiramge appearing for the complainant sought an order for the arrest of State Minister Diana Gamage for committing offences under Immigrants and Emigrants Act.(Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Even Courts are lenient on politicians. This country stinks. Further, the investigation in to politicians takes decades and by that time everything is forgotten.

If any ordinary citizen did a immigration law break, he will today be in the Mirihana Detention Center for Aliens. But we are Sinhalese Buddhist Country with laws for everybody else other than for Sinhalese Buddhists. That is why we are such a piece of shit to the world.

At no stage since the commencement of the Trial did Diana appear without the grin on her face. Did she well know what the outcome of her Case would be ?
