Dayasiri questions Suren Raghavan’s attire in Parliament

SLFP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara raised objections to the attire of State Minister Suren Raghavan, who had worn a bow-tie suit to Parliamentary sessions today.

MP Jayasekara said it is against Parliamentary ethics to speak in Parliament wearing a bow-tie suit.

He said an MP should wear a national dress or a western suit in Parliament according to parliamentary ethics.

State Minister Ragawan said Mr. Jayasekara was playing dirty politics.

"My attire has been more important to him rather than the debate," he said.

MP Jayasekara said he never play dirty politics and that he wanted to raise it as it was against parliamentary ethics.

The presiding member said the matter would be raised with the parliament offcials and let the House know. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
