Flying kites near airports a punishable offence

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited today said flying kites within a radius of five kilometres from any airport was illegal and a punishable offence and requested people to refrain from such acts.

In a statement, it said flying kites within five kilometres from an airport could damage the wings and other parts of the planes and even cause plane crashes.

The statement further said that flying kites at the area close to the 14 airports in Sri Lanka has been restricted.

The AA keeps publishing the notice from quite sometime in the past . If the notion they purport is such a tiny kite of less than a kilogram of weight make an impact to the flight of at least 200 kgs, first and foremost, the flight isn't airworthy as it is unable withstand a minor impact may result in a crash . This is a dangerous precedent . Other thing is hurting the sentiments of fanciful thoughts of the teenagers and youth , challenging the right to object the freedom of someones direct overhead ? and I must say that AA trainee flights are desdesigned to train in wealthy families
