Four persons including two girls were killed while another was injured following earth slips at two locations in Rambukkana and Alawwa.

Police said a 35-year old woman and two daughters aged 8 and 14 were killed while her husband was injured when a house was completely covered by debris following an earth slip in Wekada in Rambukkana early this morning.

The injured were admitted to the Rambukkana Hospital.

Meanwhile, a 23-year old woman working as a nurse at a private hospital in Colombo was killed while her mother and brother escaped unhurt following an earth slip that destroyed their home at Wennoruwa in Alawwa last night. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
