Gunmen miss target, shoot at youth in Dehiwala

A 30-year old person who was returning home from work was injured following a shooting in Dehiwala last night.

Police suspect that the actual target of the shooting was someone else.

Dehiwala Police have started investigations based on information that a person was shot at and injured by two unknown persons who came on a motorcycle near the playground at Auburn Place in Dehiwala.

The victim who is a resident of Dehiwala has been admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital.

Police said the victim was shot at while he was standing on the road in front of his home after returning from work.(DSB)

Govment should banned all non liecence guns compulsory given time frame to handover without any question asked after deadline if anyone get cought wil be heavily punished and inc prison sentence should be introduced before it get out of hand that will minimize lot of criminal activities in the country

OMG ! any innocent person is not safe on the roads without becoming a victim of a shooting targeted at some other person ! Someone is suggesting that anyone holding an unlicensed gun should be imprisoned ? When the Prisons are already overflowing with treble the number of the accommodation available, where are we to find room for prisoners with increasing numbers being convicted for Drug Offences ?
