Half a million visitors visit Lotus Tower since its opening

The Lotus Tower Management said that they have reached half a million visitors this morning since the tower opened to the public, Lotus Tower Head of management, Prasad Samarasinghe said.

He told the Daily Mirror that the half-millionth ticket was sold to a person who arrived from the Matara area and was rewarded with a plaque and gift voucher.

He said more than over Rs.268 million revenue was collected since the day the tower opened for public visits.

A total of 4,083 foreigners visited the tower.

The operating hours for visitors to the Lotus Tower are as follows; Monday to Friday tickets will be issued from 9.00am to 9.00pm and Tower operation closes at 10.00pm. Saturday and Sunday tickets will be issued from 9.00am to 10.00pm and Tower operation closes at 11.00pm.(Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Foreigners have to pay $20 dollars for a ticket. For the Mahanakhon skywalk in Bankok also. Which one do you think we prefer? Famous Eiffeltower in Paris $15. The Galatatower in Istanbul $5.

I'm a tourist, and there is absolutely no way I'm paying that much to go up a tower. Same goes for Sigariya....$30 for what? Pidurangala is much better for the price. It's a joke how much Asian tourist spots rip off foreigners...Not all white people are rich. Sri Lankans can go to London and enter every museum and art gallery for free. At least reduce the price so tourists don't feel like they've been robbed.

Hey Steeven, in London, you pay hefty fees to see the attractions. Only few places are free. If you cannot afford USD 20 or 30 for these attractions then how do you travel to the countries.
