It is the prime responsibility of all the political forces and the civil society to intervene perceptively and immediately to end the political and economic crisis currently faced by the motherland,National Movement for Social Justice Chairman Karu Jayasuriya said.

He said in a statement that the parliament is now entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the main political reforms desired by the people of the country
without delay and it is essential to implement those measures in a way that leads to the confidence of the people.

"It is also highly important that the citizens remain peaceful and stoic to achieve this end. Therefore, on behalf of the nation, we request all parties to work peacefully in accordance with the respected democratic traditions.

It is also essential that all the responsible parties of the government heed the voice of the people and we call on the government to fulfil the aspirations of the people without further delay," he said.
