The selling price of a lottery ticket will be increased to Rs. 40 from July 6, the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and Development Lotteries Board (DLB) said.

Accordingly, the lottery boards said their existing lottery tickets will be released to the market with attractive pictures, prizes and promotion programmes.

Addressing a special event today, the lottery boards said that nearly 20,000 families have been taken care of by them. The chairmen of both lottery boards requested all supporters, including sellers and agents to provide their support to overcome the situation.

Meanwhile, a new lottery named "Lucky 7" and a super draw lottery named "Jaya King" were also introduced at a special event. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
