Man nabbed while trying to abduct 7-year-old girl

A 33-year-old man, who attempted to abduct a 7-year-old girl who had come to visit Galle Face with her parents, has been arrested by the Fort police.

Police said the suspect was apprehended and handed over to the police when the child's parents had shouted for help.

The man, a resident of Uda Pussellawa was arrested on suspicion by the Fort police. (Srinath Prasanna Jayasuriya)
