Man shot dead at Peliyagoda Manning Market



A 42-year-old man died following a shooting incident at the New Manning Market in Peliyagoda today, the police said.

They said the victim died while being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital (CNH).

The victim was from the Kotahena area and was the owner of several fruit stalls in the Manning Market complex.

The reason behind the shooting was not known immediately.

However, the police investigation revealed that suspects came in a vehicle and opened fire at him using a T-56 firearm. Peliyagoda police are conducting investigations to apprehend the suspect. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
