Referring to the proposed Bureau of Rehabilitation Bill, SJB MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka in Parliament yesterday said it is the politicians of this country who should be rehabilitated first as they are the ones who are responsible for the country’s sorry state of affairs today.

“I appeal to the people in this country to resume the aragalaya and drive corrupt politicians out of power. “I don’t mean insurrections like 1971 or 1989 when I say aragalaya. What I mean is a peaceful struggle to restore democracy of this nation,” he added.

He also questioned what senior State intelligence Chief was doing till underworld figure Kanjipani fled the country the day after he was granted bail. (Yohan Perera)

100% true and I agree with him fully..not really rehabilitation but education..we need to have some honest:; trustworthy; reliable and highly educated and experts in politics...some people are good in manners but don't have skills and some people are educated and skillful but thrives..we don't need those people ..put some conditions upon them to select ) age limits; qualifications and good characters ...these are needed for them

Sarath Fonseka's appeal to the people of Sri Lanka to rid the country of corrupt politicians and corruption, and to bring about a genuine, peaceful revival of democracy by the majority of the people seems to me to be exactly the right way to begin a better future ! All existing differences between the main opposition parties should be surmountable with this objective! Sarath Fonseka, who is a military and a Democrat, should have a prominent role in all events and policies to come! Only the best and responsible politicians can save the country and lead it to a safer and more just future!
