Postal services temporarily suspended for four countries
Acceptance of postal shipments for the USA, Netherlands, Israel and Russian countries has been temporarily suspended due to the suspension and restriction of flights to Sri Lanka due to fuel crisis, the Department of Posts said.
Postmaster Ranjith Ariyaratne said negotiations are underway with foreign airlines to resume mail transportation to the above destinations.
He said that due to the difficulty in providing sufficient fuel, there has been a delay in the mail transport activities within the country.
