Prof. Senarath Paranavithana Memorial Shield 2021 Grand Finale, presented by the Royal College History Club is to be held today.

It is for the second time in Sri Lanka, that the Royal college History club presents the chance to all schools around Sri Lanka to go head-to-head in an all-island history quiz competition, the only of its kind.

A total of 52 teams islandwide faced each other in five rounds throughout September, in order to claim the ultimate crown of history the “Prof. Senarath Paranavithana Memorial Shield”

The first round of the competition took place on September 04 while the second round and Top 10 rounds were held on September 11 and 18 respectively.

The grand finals and the semi-finals will be held on September 29.

Accordingly, the Semifinals would be held from 9.00 am to 10.00 am while the Finals is set to be held from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm.

The three teams for the Semifinals are Ananda College B, Nalanda College A and Richmond College A.

The Finals will be broadcast live and one team will be crowned as the best history quizzing team in Sri Lanka.

This project was established in 2017 under the guidance of the present Teacher-In-Charge, Mr. Palitha Abeywardena.
