Ranil should worship the Aragalaya as he is President because of them: Vijitha

President Ranil Wickremesinghe should be thankful to the Aragalaya instead of trying to supress it as he was able to become the President becuase of the Aragalaya, National People's Power (NPP) MP Vijitha Herath said today.

He told Parliament that it was regrettable that the President was now pulling up the Aragalaya activists and threatening to call in secuity forces and declare emergency to prevent another Aragalaya.

Speaking during the Committee Stage debate, he said the Aragalaya was a great people's uprising which was able to expel an executive President and bring about political changes in the country.

"President Wickremesinghe should worship Aragalaya people day and night for paving the way for him to become the President. It is regrettable that he is pulling up the Aragalaya activists and threatening to suppress it," he said. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

This is an irony in Sri Lankan Politics.. M3 came to power due to CBK and others and yet he ignored them badly and now Ranil came to power due to Aragalaya and now he opposed any Aragalaya...it is now very much clear they all don't both about people freedom and democracy rather they all are power greedy ..Ranil in his 70s and MR in his 70s and most of them numbering their days in this world and yet greed doesn't leave them ..they holding to this political power....yet; it is youth of this country who must decide thier future and JVP has indeed broken the Norse of Ranil in this debate .. whatever said about JVP they are wise people ...their arguments are logical and rational.. we hope that the Sri Lankan forces ( Police; Army ; Air force; Nervy and CID) should be neutral on this political debate . They must keep away from party politics as they did last time ..they must maintain their professional ethic and moral principles. They should not sideline with any party at all ..

Ranil is just another morally bankrupt SriLankan politician. And we have more than our share of these degenerates. The primary mission of the aragalaya was to rid the country of these virmin. Sadly, he was an unintended beneficiary of the movement.

Just look at this man Ranil he is talking about environment in the world stage when sri lankans are struggling to have 2 meals a day and some only 1 meal. He must have thought he scored points- non at all. He must get his prioritise right. Was he able to convince other leaders to give aid/ loans. None at all. They are aware what he is been upto and very cautious. Aid is given to people not to corrupt leaders so that spouses can have their same gender pleasures. They know taxes from citizens pay for their salaries and upkeep
