SJB, UNP, JVP became more terrified than Corona: Dilan Perera
The message of Basil Rajapaksa entering Parliament as a national list MP has instilled fear among the members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), United National Party (UNP) and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). They are more scared than to coronavirus, SLPP National List MP Dilan Perera said.
Speaking to the media at the weekly media briefing yesterday, he said that, despite the current COVID issue and the recent fuel price hike, the main topic of the opposition and the media now is Basil Rajapaksa.
If a political opponent is afraid of the decision to appoint Basil Rajapaksa as a national list MP, he believes the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) made the correct decision.
"The SLPP has the right to appoint and change MPs. Therefore, Basil Rajapaksa, as the founder of the SLPP, the party has the right to appoint members of our party. The opposition seems disturbed by the decisions we take. If the political enemy is afraid of that decision, that means we have made the right decision," MP Perera said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
