SJB calls for impartial probe on Ali Sabri Raheem

The investigations on MP Ali Sabri Raheem who has been reportedly arrested for trying to smuggle gold should be conducted without political interference, SJB MP Harshana Rajapakaruna told Parliament today.

“We have received an SMS news alert on the arrest of MP Raheem. This action of the MP will reflect on all 225 MPs as all of us will be regarded as smugglers. Therefore it is important that a proper investigation is carried out on the MP who was arrested, MP Rajakaruna said.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena agreeing with the proposal said an impartial investigation should be conducted regarding the incident. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

what is there to be investigated? The MP should be kicked out of Parliament and put behind bars. One thing is clear. The parliamentarians are following the footsteps of Rajapkshes. Ali baba and his 40 thieves. I know 40 is an undertstatement.
