SL cricket team leaves BIA amidst tight security in private vehicles



KATUNAYAKA (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lankan Cricket team that returned to the country amidst tight security after dismal performance at the ICC World Cup, left the BIA in their private vehicles, despite SLC arranging secure transport for them.

The Sri Lankan Team won only 2 matches of the 9 matches played at the Group stage.

The Sri Lankan Cricket team that lost its standing in the ICC World Cup and returned at 0505 early this morning from Bangalore, India, on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-174.

Even though a special bus was arranged for the team to leave the airport, many players left for their homes in their private vehicles amid tight security.

Several officials of Sri Lanka Cricket were present at the Katunayake Airport arrivals terminal to welcome them.

All the players, coaches, physiotherapists and officials of the Sri Lankan cricket team came to the airport.
