SL further relaxes entry requirements for int’l travellers

Sri Lanka has further relaxed the entry requirements to the country by removing the need for on-arrival PCR tests for non-vaccinated and partially vaccinated travellers.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) issued a notice yesterday informing that all non-vaccinated and partially vaccinated travellers are exempted from the Day-1 PCR test and quarantine period.

However, to be exempted from the on-arrival PCR test, travellers must arrive with a negative PCR report that is done within 72 hours of embarkation.

Travellers opting for Rapid Antigen Tests (self swabs disallowed) must have it done 48 hours before embarkation, the SLTDA said.

Children below the age of 12 do not require a negative PCR or RAT result.

However u relax the on arrival travel requirements, the foreigners will not arrive in Srilanka since there's a tensed situation in Srilanka which is making head line news in the international arena also there's always a shortage fr the basic necessity..!

Is this all they can think of? These SL idiots still do not understand how to attract tourists. Get rid of the visa fee, extend visa stay to at least 3 months, scrap the huge entrance fees charged for tourists and provide them proper protection from scammers. Is anyone listening? Have them got any brains?

Exactly!!! Visa rules very shortsighted as more foreign exchange would be earned with increased tourist arrivals than with visa fees, esp. with respect to long-term stays. Practically all tourists in this category stay at villas, guesthouses, private homes etc. and shop at local stores and markets, thus supporting local businesses.

Wow finally someone who understand this. I visit your country since 2005 regularly on official missions and zo see my many friends. Still I am scammed everyday as people think very short minded and not on a long term. Your comment @Nish says all.

why not do away with the visa requirement, then we will have all criminals and money launderers in the country and SLTB can report them as tourist arrivals-jeyaweva
