The Special Task Force of Police (STF) has seized two firearms from three accomplices of underworld gangster 'Minuwangoda Mahesh Malli' who is operating from Dubai.

The STF said with the seizure of the two firearms, the STF has so far sized 50 illegal firearms from the underworld gangsters during the raids within last 2½ years under the directions of STF Commandant DIG Waruna Jayasundara.

The STF on Saturday arrested a 32-year-old gangster named Suresh Priyankara alias 'Bobiya' who is a close accomplice of Minuwangoda Mahesh during a raid at Katana.

Following questioning the suspect, the STF arrested two more men aged 35 and 42 with two firearms, two magazines. The suspects were handed over to the Negombo and Pannala Police for further investigations.
