Sanjeeva Dhammika and Ananda Palitha arrested for threatening PUCSL members

The Kollupitiya Police has arrested Secretary of Electricity Users Association Sanjeeva Dhammika and Convener of Samagi United Trade Union Alliance Ananda Palitha on charges of threatening two members of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).

The Kollupitiya Police had begun an investigation following a complaint lodged by the Vice Chairman of the PUCSL Udeni Wickramasinghe and member Mohan Samaranayake alleging that they were threatened by several trade union representatives, when they went to the premises of the Commission in Kollupitiya on the invitation of the Chairman of the PUCSL Janaka Ratnayake for a meeting.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

SL Police is very quick to arrest these people. People are still waiting for arrests of the thugs who assaulted those Galle Face protesters way back. IMF, EU and all those other Western Governments who provide financial supports to this corrupt country should be watching these events.

If the two PUCSL members came there only on the invitation of the PUCSL chairman, then the leak must be through the invitation. PUCSL chairman is not looking fairly for long term well being of our nation, by having balance between costs of CEB and expenses, but just wants CEB to lose money. The CEB losing money then causes the government to bear those losses, which in turn causes greater loss for the public purse.
