Srilankan Airlines summoned before COPE

The National carrier Srilankan Airlines has been summoned before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) next week, the Parliament media unit confirmed today.

SriLankan Airlines Limited has been called to appear before COPE on April 27 while a number of other institutions will be summoned from April 25 to 27.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation has been summoned before COPE on the 25th while the Land Reforms Commission has been summoned to review the progress of implementing directives issued by the COPE on April 26, while the University Grants Commission is scheduled to be present on the 28th.

The Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka is scheduled to be called before COPE on 09 May to review the progress of implementing directives issued at the COPE meeting held on 23.03.2023. (Yohan Perera)

SL got so much so called smart people, however no one suggesting to ground SriLankan airlines which lost like ONE TRILLION RUPEES PEOPLE IT'S TRILLION RUPEES!! It's a huge burden for the Treasury!! AND only couple of hundred thousand lankans using the airline but the 22 million lankans suffering due to government funding gigantic money losing airline!!

Sri Lankan will only go to further troubles with it's pointless name. Air Lanka was a good brand, but there is nothing but complaints about low quality airline and flights about Sri Lankan. Lankan sounds much better than Sri Lankan.
