Welipenna Interchange flooded; vehicle movement hampered

Vehicle movements on the Southern Expressway (E-01) have been interrupted due to flooding at the Welipenna Interchange, expressway police said.

They said the exit and entry  for light vehicles at the interchange were hampered due to the floods.

The interchange is partially submerged in 4 feet of flood water. 

Meanwhile, the police have advised motorists to drive their vehicles at reduced speed to avoid any mishap during rainy weather. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
