Well-known Pediatrician, clinical teacher, researcher, administrator and policy-maker in the fields of health, nutrition and science, Professor Priyani Soysa passed away peacefully this morning at the age of 97.

She was the Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Colombo from 1966 to 1990. Beloved wife of the late Deshabandu Dr. Ananda Soysa, She is an old girl of Princess of Wales College, Moratuwa.

The remains will lie at A.F. Raymonds on April 9 and 10. The cremation will be held on Monday (10) at the General Cemetery, Borella at 5 pm.

She us one of those who served the country to her last breath. May she attains Nibbana. She has done enough good deeds during her life. Youngsters should take example from her life instead of following failed theoritc political ideologies.
