Govt. steps up efforts to fast-track Digital Sri Lanka agenda



The government shared that it is looking to increase its efforts in fast tracking the Digital Sri Lanka agenda, and is currently in the midst of getting the relevant stakeholders on to one platform.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Namal Rajapaksa shared via a tweet late last evening that the data collection for the Digital Sri Lanka effort is scheduled to kick off in the coming months.

He added that the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and other relevant authorities will collaborate to implement the Digital Sri Lanka project along with E-Gramasevaka and Digital ID.

Earlier today, Sri Lanka saw the kickoff of the Digital Vaccination project that was launched at the Sri Lanka Army together with the ICTA.

The project aims at paving the way for online registration and issuing of vaccine IDs island wide at the earliest to fast track and streamline the national vaccination drive.
