No passenger disembarkation from 21 to 31 May

Sri Lanka will not permit disembarkation of passengers into the country for 10 days starting 21 March, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced a short while ago.

In a communiqué to all airlines, the CAA informed all online and offline carriers that all international airports in Sri Lanka will not allow passengers to disembark from 2359 hours on 21 May 2021 until 2359 hours on 31 May 2021.

The decision is taken in view of controlling the COVID-19 situation in the country, the CAA said.

However, during the restricted period, aircraft departures with passengers originating from BIA and MRIA, aircraft emergence diversions to BIA/MRIA, fighter operations and humanitarian flights to BIA/MIA, technical landings to BIA/MRIA, inbound ferry flights (without passengers) at BIA/MRIA, and passengers transiting at BIA/MRIA for less than 12 hours with a confirmed ticket to outward destination, are permitted.
