SL keen to work with China to boost cooperation in infrastructure and tourism



The government yesterday expressed its willingness to work with the world’s largest economy, China, to expand cooperation in fields such as infrastructure and tourism.

The interest was expressed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

During the conversation, as reported by Xinhua, President Rajapaksa had communicated Sri Lanka’s keenness in advancing major projects such as the Colombo Port City.

He had also added that his office is confident that such efforts would boost the economic and social development of the country

Meanwhile, President Jinping shared that China stands ready to work with the island nation to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and provide the required support to pave the way for Sri Lanka’s post-pandemic economic recovery and sustainable development.
