Unlimited data packages by April: TRCSL

Internet uses across the country could expect to have unlimited data plans by April, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) announced via Twitter a short while ago.

It said that all operators have issued a directive to submit plans for ‘Unlimited Internet Packages’ by 1 March and the proposals are currently under review.

Internet users in Sri Lanka are currently offered split data plans where the data allocation is split into two as daytime and night time data.

One leading telecom Mobile operator in the country now almost with a monopoly! We are eternally experiencing call drops!! TRCSL kindly look into this!

The present internet packages does not benefit the public though the companies offer various packages. Comparing to other countries Sri Lankans are far below in benefit level. At a time particularly when school children use the internet widely specially TeleCom and Dialog can offer much cheaper service. They earn massive profits but benefits to the public is limited. TRCSL initiative is appreciated. Public will look forward to this initiative
