AIA Sri Lanka appoints Biswa Prakash Misra as new chairman

AIA Sri Lanka has appointed Biswa Prakash Misra as chairman of its board of directors, effective January 2025, subject to regulatory approval, the company said.

Misra, a member of AIA Group’s leadership team since 2013, is the group Chief Technology Officer and Life Operations Officer. He also oversees AIA’s business in New Zealand and serves as a director of several group companies.

With more than 25 years of experience across Asian markets, Misra has led technology, digital, and analytics transformations, as well as operational initiatives. He has managed multi-market IT teams and played a role in mergers and acquisitions.

A specialist in insurance technology, Misra has worked across Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam and Mainland China.
