Ex-pack Corrugated Cartons PLC and Neptune Recyclers, subsidiaries of Aberdeen Holdings, were honoured with awards at the Presidential Environment Awards 2024. 

The awards ceremony, held at BMICH and organized by the Central Environment Authority under the Ministry of Environment, was graced by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. 

Ex-pack Corrugated Cartons PLC secured the Silver Award in the category of Packaging Industry with Printing. CEO Riyaz accepted the accolade, marking a significant milestone in Ex-pack’s sustainability journey. 

Neptune Recyclers, a subsidiary of Ex-pack, clinched the Bronze Award in the Solid Waste Recovery, Recycling, Disposal, or Processing Plant category. Managing Director Abdullah Kassim accepted the award, highlighting Neptune’s dedication to revolutionizing waste management and advancing recycling technologies. 

Neptune’s achievements include exporting over 600,000 metric tons of wastepaper, generating over US$ 170 million, creating thousands of jobs, and being the first globally to receive Intertek’s Zero Waste to Landfill certification.
