CFA Society Sri Lanka announced the launch of the Ravi Abeysuriya Memorial Award for Best Stock Brokering Research Team recently.
The renaming of the gold award as the Ravi Abeysuriya Memorial Award for Best Stock Brokering Research Team at the 2024 Capital Market Awards stands as a testament to his enduring legacy. This honor symbolizes the society’s gratitude and reverence for Ravi’s larger-than-life impact on the industry.
Ravi Abeysuriya, the first CFA charterholder in Sri Lanka since 1995, played a pivotal role in the formation of CFA Society Sri Lanka in 2001. Under his leadership as the founding President, the society began with just 16 members and has since grown to support nearly 300 members and over 400 candidates, with more than 1000 CFA charterholders from Sri Lanka taking up influential positions globally.
In remembrance of his remarkable contributions, CFA Society Sri Lanka unveiled Ravi’s portrait in its local office last year.
