President Anura Kumara Dissanayake with Chinese President Xi Jinping
China yesterday pledged support to Sri Lanka, with President Xi Jinping expressing readiness to collaborate with the island nation towards a new era of development.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Jinping held bilateral talks, where the latter affirmed China’s commitment to continuing its cooperation with Sri Lanka in the future.
Dissanayake is currently on a four-day state visit to China.
The PMD also shared that during the meeting between the two leaders, several memoranda of understanding were signed covering economic, social and industrial sectors.
Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Bimal Rathnayake and Government Information Department Director General H.S.K.J. Bandara are also part of the delegation accompanying Dissanayake.
