EDB to sign cooperation agreement with IFC to uplift local SMEs with export potential

The Export Development Board (EDB) is preparing to partner with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to uplift the export potential of SMEs in Sri Lanka.
The EDB is set to enter into a cooperation agreement with the IFC in an effort to provide the local businesses and entrepreneurs with the required facilities that will assist their transition into formal export businesses.
The Cabinet of Ministers this week approved a proposal presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to finalise the agreement between the EDB and IFC. The collaboration has also received clearance from the Attorney General and the endorsement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
