The following message was issued by the Free Trade Zone Manufactures’ Association (FTZMA), congratulating the new Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) Chairman Arjuna Herath.

FTZMA congratulates you on your new appointment

We, the Executive Committee of the Free Trade Zone Manufactures’ Association (FTZMA), together with its members congratulate you and send greetings as we warmly welcome you as the new Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI).

We, FTZMA, represent the interests of all the BOI investors in meeting their objectives and do our utmost to facilitate them in their needs, in order to have a smooth, regular and sustainable operation in all the BOI enterprises in the country. 

Being the sole trade chamber that represents in excess of 2000 enterprises in and out of all the 14 BOI zones in the country, we address the common issues in liaising with the BOI and other state-owned and private agencies. Our existence has been ever since the GCEC era and we have been active from 1981, almost in excess of 40 years and also a council member of the National Labour Advisory Council (NLAC) and Sri Lanka Shippers Council.
Being a board member at the Colombo Stock Exchange and a distinguished Senior Chartered Accountant and a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka whilst actively involved in international accounting forums such as the South Asian Federation of Accountants and Confederation of Asia Pacific Accountants, we undoubtedly believe that the wisdom and experience that you gained could steer the BOI to the limelight of investment and strengthen the economy of our country. 

Moreover, we are quite confident that you would develop the BOI as a one-stop shop in meeting our expectations, thereby making it more focused and useful to the existing and potential investors in the right way forward.

This being said, we are happy to directly co-ordinate our activities with you going forward and would be pleased if you could grant us an opportunity for our Executive Committee to meet you at an early date and time that would be convenient to you for enabling us to pay a courtesy call on you.
