Gusta, an online platform connecting specialty food providers, was launched during the pandemic to provide discerning customers with access to high-quality foods. Over the years, the website has attracted a diverse customer base, including foodies, expats, and aspiring home cooks.
www.gusta.lk has provided a platform for local suppliers, often home-based or small-scale businesses, offering high-quality cheeses, meats, fish, spreads, jams, chocolates, vegan and gluten-free products, and bakery items. With recent user experience improvements, the website now ensures the speedy delivery of over 1,000 products to customers’ doorsteps.
As part of its expansion, Gusta recently launched its second physical store in Ahangama at the newly opened Café Ceylon grounds. This store caters to a booming tourist and expat market, as well as the needs of a growing food scene in the South. Plans are underway to expand to other tourist hotspots, such as Hiriketiya, in 2025. Meanwhile, Gusta will continue offering a curated experience at its Nugegoda and Ahangama locations.
Beyond connecting food suppliers to customers, Gusta actively supports these businesses by encouraging the use of wholesome, high-quality ingredients and offering production expertise. The platform also serves a substantial B2B audience, providing hotel and restaurant owners with premium ingredients for their menus. Together, Gusta and its network of local food providers deliver access to the highest-quality ingredients, catering to diverse needs such as dietary restrictions, meal planning, and hosting.
The Ahangama store launch was attended by Gusta team, including Nicolas Polet (CEO), Dilan Rangana (Director), and Ashan Perera (Manager).
