Impressions Labels Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, one of Sri Lanka’s leading label manufacturers and the first in the industry to receive ‘CarbonConscious’ certification for their flagship factory in  Homagama, reinstated their commitment to sustainability as the same factory was recently awarded ‘WasteConscious’ certification for its operations.

The Carbon Consulting Company (CCC) – Sri Lanka’s foremost provider of integrated sustainability solutions, awarded the certifications following the conduct of an independent audit.

WasteConsious is part of the proprietary Conscious range of certification programmes developed by CCC following international standards and protocols for the measurement, management and mitigation/enhancement of environmental sustainability focus areas such as Carbon, Water, Waste and Biodiversity.

This significant achievement of Impressions Labels Lanka, who has renewed their Homagama Factory’s CarbonConscious status and has conducted a Water Footprint Assessment for a second consecutive year, further illustrates their commitment towards managing their carbon, water and waste footprints, as the organisation strives to incorporate sustainability in all its operations in order to become a more responsible business.

Upon receiving the certifications, CEO/MD of Impressions Labels Lanka LuviSiemon remarked: “We represent a group of companies and we have come together because we acknowledge that climate change will continue to have serious implications for our customers, the environment and the economy. These are risks that we need to manage. We believe that collaborating with the Carbon Consulting Company and investing in Carbon, Water and Waste assessments will begin to make a measurable impact over the next few years that will build into a set of achievements of which we can be proud.”

Speaking on the momentous occasion, CEO of CCC, Sanith de S. Wijeyeratne said: “We are very proud to be working with an organisation such as Impressions Labels Lanka. The certifications are proof that they are highly motivated at all levels of the company to mitigate their impact on the environment. The fact that they are amongst the first companies to receive a WasteConscious certification reinstates their desire to achieve their environmental sustainability goals. I hope other corporations follow suit to make a real difference in our effort to fight the devastating effects of climate change.”
