Mercantile Investments & Finance PLC and Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO), two leading corporations in Sri Lanka, have forged a strategic partnership through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) recently.

This partnership marks the introduction of the Mercantile Investments & Finance PLC/DIMO Lease Promotion, an innovative financial solution aimed at providing attractive leasing facilities for the customers purchasing TATA commercial vehicles from DIMO. The collaboration aims to enhance financial accessibility while expanding market reach, combining DIMO’s extensive expertise in vehicle distribution with Mercantile Investments’ trusted financial services to offer significant benefits to the customers.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the head office of Mercantile Investments in Kollupitiya, Colombo 3. The event was attended by key executives from both companies, including Mercantile Investments Managing Director Gerard Ondaatjie, DIMO Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Gahanath Pandithage, DIMO Executive Director Rajeev Pandithage and Mercantile Investments Chief Operating Officer Laksanda Gunawardhena.

Their participation underscored the significance of this strategic collaboration in advancing the goals of both companies while delivering exceptional value to customers.

Through this exclusive leasing programme, the customers who opt to lease DIMO’s TATA commercial vehicles with Mercantile Investments will gain access to a range of compelling benefits. The promotion includes free vehicle registration and complimentary insurance, eliminating significant upfront costs for buyers. In addition, the lease package features emergency accident insurance of up to Rs.300,000, providing critical financial protection in the event of permanent disability or death. A standout feature of the scheme is the waiver of the monthly rental fee if the vehicle is undergoing repairs for more than a month, due to an accident, alleviating financial stress during prolonged downtime. The programme also includes hospitalisation coverage for the driver, ensuring that essential medical expenses are covered in case of injury.
