Modern Trading (Pvt) Ltd., recently celebrated the opening of their showroom “Modern House” at Vijaya Kumaratunga Mawatha, Colombo 5.

 The event coincided with the celebration of 30 years of business in Sri Lanka by the Modern Group and displayed a variety of construction solutions for both residential and industrial segments.

“We have established a credible name for water-proofing and anti-corrosive solutions in the country.  We represent some of the reputed companies in Spain, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia and offer quality products. We have expanded the range of products by including Decorative, Interior and Exterior coatings, Wood protective coatings, Granite coatings and a number of other construction solutions to our portfolio as well,” said Priyanath Peiris, Managing Director of the Group. 

Peiris also stated that the products showcased at “Modern House” come with a guarantee and meet highest international standards. The free site inspections offered to customers is also an additional feature which ensures that the right products are used along with proper instructions as per the application methods. 

Apart from this wide range, Modern House carries Nippon Paints and offers a colour creation desk in which almost any colour pertaining to weather shield or the 3 in 1 interior Medi fresh paints can be mixed and matched. Going hand in hand is also a wide range of Multibond products and Harris rollers & brushes. 

The Modern Group is also involved in the tourism industry namely Modern Voyages (Pvt) Ltd., focusing on the inbound travel sector. It is currently headed by Sushan Peiris, a Director of the Group.

Modern Group in their latest venture launched the sale of Pure Organic Export Quality Virgin Coconut oil and White coconut oil to the local market as well. These products that were initially open only to the export market are now freely available at their showroom for domestic use.

Going by our vision we are able to offer the same export quality Organic Virgin and White coconut oil at a much cheaper rate than what is available in the market”, said Sharen Peiris.
