People’s Bank refurbishes Suwaseriya ambulance for public in Kalutara South



In a significant display of corporate social responsibility, People’s Bank has announced its donation to the 1990 Suwaseriya Ambulance Service, under the organization’s ‘Adopt an Ambulance’ initiative. 

This donation exemplifies the bank’s unwavering commitment to improving community welfare and providing timely medicare to individuals in need.

The initiative was highlighted by the official handing over of a fully refurbished ambulance that had been adopted and branded with the People’s Bank logos. The formal handover took place at the People’s Bank Head Office in Colombo 02, before the vehicle was sent to its new operational base in Kalutara South. The 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation, a pioneering force in emergency medical services, has long worked to improve healthcare access in Sri Lanka. The ‘Adopt an Ambulance’ programme plays an important role in this aim, supporting the upgrading and deployment of ambulances to underserved areas.

“We are proud to partner with the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation in this initiative, which not only helps provide timely medical assistance but also strengthens the overall healthcare infrastructure in Sri Lanka.”, said Clive Fonseka, Chief executive officer/General Manager of People’s Bank.

The newly branded People’s Bank ambulance will improve emergency response capabilities in Kalutara South, resulting in faster medical intervention and better health outcomes for local citizens. This investment is part of People’s Bank’s wider initiative to invest in community-driven projects and develop a culture of giving back.

People’s Bank CEO/GM Clive Fonseka, Head of Marketing Nalaka Wijayawardana and Suwaseriya Foundation CEO Sohan De Silva attended the ceremony, emphasizing the significance of such collaborations in addressing healthcare needs and boosting emergency response systems.
