Kotagala Plantations announced the opening of the Rosita Tea House, the company’s first dedicated Tea Center. Overlooking the scenic St. Clair’s Waterfall, the newly opened location offers exceptional teas that capture the finest flavors from the heart of the Dimbula Tea region.
Lankem Plantations Managing Director, Sunil Poholiyadde expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support from his team in bringing the project to fruition. “This Tea Center is another important milestone for Lankem Plantations, and an extension of our continuing commitment to preserving the storied legacy of Pure Ceylon Tea, and celebrating the completely unique flavours of the Dimbula region with the world,” he remarked.
During the opening ceremony, Kotagala Plantations CEO, Channa De Costa was recognized for his instrumental role in initiating the concept of the Tea Center and guiding it through to completion. The opening ceremony also featured the participation of Kotagala’s sister company, Agarapathana Plantations and its Director/CEO, Denham Madena and Director Operations, Rohan Weerakoon
“The Rosita Tea House is set to become a beacon of community spirit and an ambassador of Kotagala’s rich tea heritage,” said De Costa. “We are excited to welcome visitors to experience the authentic flavors of our region and to continue our legacy of bringing the best of Sri Lankan tea to global markets.”
The managers and assistant managers of Kotagala Plantations were acknowledged for their dedication and efforts in bringing the vision of the Tea Center to life. Their commitment has been crucial in maintaining the quality and tradition that define the region’s tea.
Officials from the Sri Lanka Tea Board also graced the occasion emphasizing the strong ties within the tea industry and continued support for such initiatives. Local health officials, community leaders, and representatives from various organizations also attended, reflecting the widespread backing for this endeavour.
