Sri Lanka’s luxury hospitality sector gained global recognition as two of its iconic properties, Ceylon Tea Trails and Galle Face Hotel, earned accolades at the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Ceylon Tea Trails, a five-bungalow resort in Hatton, was named as one of the best resorts globally, securing its place in the Rest of Asia category alongside top-tier properties from Thailand and Indonesia. Owned by Resplendent Ceylon, the luxury brand of Dilmah Tea, the resort is renowned for its scenic beauty and high-end offerings.
Galle Face Hotel, a heritage property founded in 1864, also made the list of best hotels in Asia, under the same category. Its colonial architecture and historical significance have cemented its reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated hotels. The hotel is currently owned by Ceylon Hotel Corporation and managed by The Leisure Group.
The recognition was based on votes from the UK readers of Condé Nast Traveller, known for highlighting premium travel experiences through its widely respected annual awards.
