Sampath Bank made history by receiving the prestigious Asia’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility award at Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024, held recently at The Westin, Singapore.

The award was presented to Sampath Bank Managing Director Ayodhya Iddawella Perera, in recognition of the bank’s outstanding contributions to corporate responsibility.

Sampath Bank’s initiatives, including its flagship ‘Wewata Jeewayak’ tank restoration programme and various environmental and social sustainability projects, reflect its deep commitment to addressing the nation’s core challenges.

“This remarkable achievement recognises Sampath Bank as the only Sri Lankan bank honoured as the best bank for corporate responsibility and even more so, Asia’s best. We are immensely proud and this award reinforces our dedication to creating lasting, positive impacts in the communities we serve,” said Perera.

Following this triumph, Sampath Bank was also nominated among the top three World’s Best Banks for Corporate Responsibility.

This recognition places Sampath Bank alongside global banking giants, further cementing its leadership in sustainability.
