Scope Cinemas unveils SL’s largest and most advanced multiplex at Havelock City Mall

The unveiling of Scope Cinemas’ latest venue – Scope Cinemas’ multiplex at Havelock City Mall – marks a significant milestone for entertainment in Sri Lanka.

As the largest and most advanced multiplex in the country, it sets a new benchmark for cinematic experiences, offering six state-of-the-art theatres, including Sri Lanka’s first IMAX with laser.

Known for its cutting-edge facilities and dedication to providing immersive and holistic cinema experiences, Scope Cinemas has become a household name, synonymous with excellence.

Scope Cinemas Head of Marketing and PR Chassy Cortes explained, “From the very beginning, our mission with Scope Cinemas has been to revolutionise and set the standard for the local cinema industry in Sri Lanka. We wanted to bring the world to Sri Lanka, offering the same experiences that audiences in other countries enjoy. With our new multiplex, we aimed for a world-class design and equipped it with the latest cinema technology, including IMAX with laser, ensuring that all our screens are the most advanced in the country. But our vision extends beyond technology.”

The new Scope Cinemas’ Multiplex at Havelock City Mall is designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind.

Scope Cinemas Executive Chairman Naveed Cader said, “We’ve taken a lot of lessons from our past experiences and applied them here to create a space that truly transforms the moviegoing experience. From the moment you enter, every detail has been considered to enhance both customer convenience and operational efficiency. We’ve invested in the best technology available, from 4K laser projection to Harkness screens, to ensure that every film is presented in the highest possible quality. And of course, our IMAX theatre is a standout feature but the other five screens, including a Dolby Atmos cinema, are equally impressive. We’ve also focused heavily on our food and beverage offerings, redefining what cinema dining can be.”

Cader also appreciated the visionary support of Liberty Lands and Development Managing Director Imthiaz Cader, the largest investor behind Scope Cinemas.
