In a bid to fortify Sri Lanka’s food safety protocols, a seminar on Food Safety Governance is set to convene on March 27th at the Prof PPGL Siriwardena Auditorium, hosted by the National Secretariat of Professional Practice of Chemistry (NSPPC) at the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon in Rajagiriya.
Distinguished speakers and industry experts are expected to delve into crucial facets of food safety governance, aiming to cultivate a safer and more resilient food ecosystem.
The programme that will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m will cover topics such as the Importance of Food Safety Governance, Role of Institute of Chemistry Ceylon in Food Safety, Safeguarding Consumer Interests (Insights from the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka), Setting Standards and Guidelines (Ministry of Health’s Food Advisory Committee), Ensuring Safe Import and Export (Sri Lanka Customs’ Crucial Role), Setting the Bar for Quality and Safety (Sri Lanka Standards Institution’s Contributions), Driving Innovation (Industrial Technology Institute’s Impact on Food Safety), Radiation Safety in the Food Industry (Insights from the Atomic Energy Authority of Sri Lanka), Panel Discussion (Industry Expectations and Collaboration), Way Forward (Strengthening Collaborative Governance for Food Safety) and networking sessions.
