Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry is set to dazzle once again with the 31st edition of FACETS Sri Lanka, South Asia’s premier gem and jewellery exhibition, all set to kick off early next year.

Taking place from January 4-6, 2025, at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, this highly anticipated event promises to be a glittering showcase for the world’s gem and jewellery elite, attracting traders, wholesalers, manufacturers, lapidarists, retailers and collectors.

FACETS Sri Lanka has long been a celebration of the island’s rich gem legacy, with Sri Lanka standing as one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious sources of coloured gemstones.

Known for its stunning array of precious stones—from sparkling sapphires to vibrant rubies—Sri Lanka’s gem industry is deeply intertwined with its heritage. Complementing this is the country’s exceptional craftsmanship, which fuses contemporary artistry with cultural tradition, creating pieces that are both timeless and on-trend.

The 2025 edition of FACETS will feature several notable events, including Sapphire Night, a networking and showcase event centred on Sri Lanka’s famed sapphires and a Story Corner, which will explore the rich history and practices of the gem and jewellery sector.

Additional highlights include a Power Breakfast to inspire women in the industry, a Mine Tour offering insights into the gem mining process and a visit to Port City, Colombo’s emerging investment hub. A VIP golf tournament is also scheduled for high-profile attendees.

Speaking to Mirror Business, FACETS Sri Lanka 2025 Chairman Armil Sammoon shared that the exhibitor booths are already sold-out.

“It’s an order taking show. This is where supply chains are built from. The SME pavilion, which started many years ago, has allowed the smaller companies to become large exporters. This event has been a stepping stone for many,” said Sammoon, highlighting the significance of the event.

Since its inception in 1991, FACETS Sri Lanka has been a beacon for the global gem and jewellery trade, showcasing the country’s extraordinary treasures and craftsmanship to an international audience. With each edition, it cements Sri Lanka’s reputation as a leading destination for fine gemstones and jewellery, making this exhibition a must-attend for anyone in the industry.
