The National HR Conference 2015 organized by IPM Sri Lanka, will be held under the theme, ‘HR for National Prosperity, Insights, Initiatives and Implications, today & tomorrow at the BMICH Colombo.

As the authority and pioneer of the country’s HR profession, IPM Sri Lanka has aptly dedicated this year’s Conference in educating the public on role played by ‘human resources’ in ushering National Prosperity. Accordingly, the conference will create a platform for the country’s HR fraternity to deliberate upon the Insights, Initiatives, and Implications of people management practices that can deliver prosperity to both the people and the country at large.

Rohitha Amarapala the President of IPM Sri Lanka commenting on the theme had this to say; “National Prosperity encompasses a variety of aspects, including economic development, social wellbeing, environmental protection and peaceful co-existence. Hence both public sector administrators and private sector managers have a crucial role to play in ushering a prosperous nation.” “This is more critical in the post-war Sri Lanka with accelerated development taking place in all fronts. Human Resources (HR) as a profession cannot operate in isolation ignoring these realities,” he added.

Chairman of NHRC 2015 Dr. Ajantha Dharmasiri who steered both the Conference Committee and Technical Committee stated that National HR Conference which is tagged as South Asia’s biggest HR event has been planned  bigger, better and brighter. “It will feature a combination of eminent international and local speakers with private and public sector collaboration. Insights, Initiatives and Implications with regard to HR for National Prosperity will be the subject area in focus. A novel session lineup with more time for discussions will make the participants actively involved in the proceedings and I can assure all participants a refreshing difference,”
