The Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF), the most comprehensive multi-product exhibition in the North, will feature a specialized ‘higher education and career guidance’ pavilion, during the three days of this mega trade and consumer show.

Popularly known as Kalvi (Education) Jaffna, it will be held for the seventh consecutive year from January 29-31 at the Municipal Grounds in Jaffna.  The exhibition, which was the first-of-the-kind to be held in the northern region of the country, has throughout the years been renowned as the best and most potent platform for meeting people and exchanging ideas.

Kalvi Jaffna is considered Sri Lanka’s most focused higher education and career exhibition in the North. The event is an ideal place for students, parents and young adults to obtain valuable information on prospective higher education and career opportunities.

Over 20,000 students and young adults visited last year’s event during the course of three days. There will be over 40 exhibition stalls displaying and informing the public of various courses, student programmes, higher education options and job opportunities. Specialized colleges, universities and education consultants will be present to share information and discuss opportunities, thus making it a one-stop shop for higher education options.

The JITF, together with Kalvi, is organised by the Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services (Pvt.) Ltd (LECS) in association with the Yarlpanam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIY) and supported by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB).

The main exhibition last year drew a record number of over 60,000 visitors with each exhibitor achieving well beyond his expected targets in terms of all indicators.

2016 will be the seventh edition of this mega trade fair. The organisers have planned special pavilions and events to coincide with the exhibition. The JITF is considered by many as the ‘Gateway to the North’ for business and investment.
