Highways and Investment Promotion Minister Kabir Hashim met with former Japanese Foreign Affairs Vice-Minister Tetsuro Yano on June 16. Discussing the long-standing relations both Sri Lanka and the UNP have enjoyed with Japan, the minister expressed his desire to expand Japan’s investments in Sri Lanka. In turn, the former Japanese minister suggested Japan continuing to maintain a close relationship with Sri Lanka and explore new avenues of investment in the country.
