Lanka Hospitals gets new CEO

Deshantha Silva has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of state-controlled Lanka Hospital Corporation PLC with effect from August 1, 2015, the hospital company informed the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) yesterday.

His appointment comes in the wake of the resignation of Lakith Pieris who stepped down from the post on March 31.

A brief resume of Silva submitted to the CSE said he counts over 18 years of experience and formally held the positions of COO/CEO Designate at ACME Printing & Packaging PLC and ACME Packaging Solutions (Pvt.) Limited and Director/COO of Alpha Industries (Private) Limited of Finco Group of Companies.
He served Finco Group for more than 13 years and previously held the position of CFO of the Manufacturing Cluster too. 

Prior to Finco Group, he served Clipsal Lanka (Pvt.) Limited and Seven Seas Group of Companies.

Silva holds a Master of Business Administration with an overall Merit Pass from the University of Colombo and a B.Sc. Engineering Degree from the University of Moratuwa.

He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Management Accountants UK, an Associate Member of Chartered Institute UK and also an Associate of Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) UK.
